PC cluster booking
Bookable PC clusters are available across campus for teaching purposes. PC clusters are either nominated for use by a specific faculty/school or central PC clusters which can be booked and used by anyone.
While not in use for teaching purposes PC clusters can usually be accessed by students when the cluster is open.
Most PC clusters run the Windows 7 Operating system though some Faculty of Science and Engineering clusters run a Linux Operating System and some Apple Mac PCs are available.
There is a large eAssessment cluster on the 6th floor of the Simon Building which is specifically designed to meet the criteria for online examination conditions. Where the cluster is not booked for eAssessments it is available as a general use PC cluster.
To request additional software to be added to a PC cluster for teaching purposes please read the following Knowledge Base article:
For standard meeting rooms without PCs contact the Central Timetabling Unit.
Students cannot book PC clusters but should consider using facilities in the Alan Gilbert Learning Commons to meet your needs.
