Email account

Email accounts are provided to all staff and students as standard. All email accounts are accessed with your central username and password.

Students

All undergraduate and postgraduate taught students are provided with an Office 365 email account. Office 365 email accounts are allocated 25GB of storage space for their mailbox and have an integrated personal calendar.

Office 365 is accessed via the My Manchester website. To access your email via mobile device or a desktop email client see the Microsoft Setup Wizard.

Staff

Staff, researchers and postgraduate researchers are provided with Microsoft Exchange email accounts.

The Exchange calendar system allows staff to schedule appointments with University of Manchester colleagues. Staff availability can be checked and pre-appointment reminders set for all attendees.

The email address is automatically generated and is generally of the format:

• Undergraduate: [first name].[last name]@student.manchester.ac.uk
• Postgraduate: [first name].[last name]@postgrad.manchester.ac.uk
• Staff: [first name].[last name]@manchester.ac.uk

Microsoft Exchange (for staff) email and calendar facilities can be accessed via:

• Microsoft Outlook (as setup by IT Services)
• My Manchester website
• The Outlook Web App (OWA)
• Mobile devices (restrictions apply)
