Windows 7 desktop
As a student or member of staff at the University, you may frequently work on a University computer. IT Services manage the desktops of many of the computers across campus, including those in student PC clusters.
Benefits
It is very important for us to ensure the University is running up-to-date computers. Having a managed desktop or laptop allows us to offer a number of benefits:
- Many applications are pre-installed on your computer ready to use straight away
- We can apply critical software updates and protect your information
- Your computer has power-management facilities, which will help to reduce how much energy your computer uses. This is a vital contribution to the University's strategic goal to reduce IT-related carbon emissions
- Having a standard system allows for our IT support analysts to be immediately familiar with your computer, which improves support time and quality.
