Remote desktop

A remote desktop connection lets you sit at one computer and connect to another computer in a different location.

For example, a home PC can connect to a University PC and have access to all of your programs, files and network resources as though you were accessing the University PC in person. Programs left running on the University PC will remain running when viewed via the alternative PC.

The University computer may need re-configuring to enable Remote Desktop functionality.

Remote access requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Most University IT services can be accessed via the web, sometimes in conjunction with the VPN. As a result, remote access is not usually required or approved.
