Contract management and commercial analysis

IT Services work with suppliers to negotiate contracts to maximise our benefits from the purchases we make.

In addition to negotiating contracts for software and support from external companies IT also keep records of contracts relating to IT. We have details on costs and support contracts for all of our systems which can be used to clarify services we are provided with or to make comparisons to alternative vendor offerings during reviews.

Commercial analysis

As part of the commissioning of a purchase, IT can undertake commercial analysis to identify and understand available options for purchasing. We negotiate with suppliers to ascertain their best available offering and assess the company, their performance and incorporate any risks which the University may face regarding to the selection of a service or product and their ability to fulfil their promises.
