SMS text service
We have an SMS service where users can send text messages directly from a computer to a mobile device.
This service allows information to be sent to individuals or groups by managers within Faculties, Schools or administrative divisions.
The benefits of this service include:
- reduction in postage costs;
- the publishing of schedule changes;
- the capability of sending reminders of events, payments, awards, for example, which the targeted individuals may be eligible;
- an alpha tagging facility whereby messages may be ‘tagged’ with the sender’s name so that on arrival to a mobile device, it is immediately obvious from where it originated; and
- advertising capabilities e.g. for upcoming events.
