Computer provisioning service
Laptops, desktop computers, workstations and tablets need to be ordered through IT Services to ensure they are suitable for University work, supportable (by IT Services and the supplier) and good value over their lifetime.
All University staff and postgraduate research students are entitled to one computer which is part funded or fully funded by IT Services.
Budget holders
If you have a departmental or research budget and wish to order a computer of any kind, including iPads and other tablets, please submit a request:
Researchers
If you're a researcher, our Research IT team may be able to provide services which are much more suitable for research than buying your own hardware outright.
Peripherals
Peripherals such as monitors, docks, keyboards, webcams etc are purchased through your local procurement process, not through IT, but we have an article with some suggestions on what to buy here:
