Remote Access Services

This service facilitates remote desktop connections which allows for remote connection to a computer from another location. For example, a home PC can connect to a University PC and have access to all of your programs, files and network resources as though you were accessing the University PC in person.

Remote access requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Most University IT services can be accessed via the web, sometimes in conjunction with the VPN. As a result, remote access is not usually required and is only facilitated when approved.

All members of University staff are eligible to use this service

Service Level Agreement (SLA)

We aim to respond to service requests within one working day and to resolve your query/request within ten working days. If your request is considered to be a priority when triaged by our IT Support Centre, the response time will be adjusted accordingly.

Availability

This service is available 24/7 with an availability of 99.7%.
